From Chronic Dieting and Restriction, To Fitness Champion: Case Study

body transformation case studies muscle building

5 minute read

This post is about Lisa's journey from chronic dieting and restriction, to overall fitness model champion.

When you approach fitness goals with your health as a top priority, and stop obsessing over the scales, you can make amazing progress in your physique.

On the left, Lisa was eating about 900 calories per day with almost ZERO carbs, and her training routine involved weights and cardio sessions daily. She would binge, starve, repeat. Three years after we met (on the right), Lisa was doing 5 weight training sessions/week, three cardio sessions, and her calories were 1800 per day. This is double her initial food consumption, which as you can see has brought amazing results.

She was eating 170gm carbs per day at a minimum, so yes, you can eat carbs and change your body. They're actually essential for losing weight, performing well in life, and keeping the results long term.

Lisa at 57kg vs 70kg 3 years later.

Physical changes aside, Lisa became healthier, stronger and happier in her fitness journey compared to when she started. Lisa competed in multiple competitions over the span of three years, and since completing this process has adjusted to a healthy lifestyle, away from food tracking.

Whether your goals are strength, health, or body composition focused, it is ESPECIALLY important for women to focus on training balance and a healthy metabolism for sustainable results.

Patience, consistency and optimal health are key.
